Il bando rientra nella Destination 2 – Increased autonomy in key strategic value chains for resilient industry, che sostiene la leadership industriale e una maggiore autonomia nelle principali catene di valore strategico con sicurezza di approvvigionamento nelle materie prime, raggiunte attraverso tecnologie innovative in aree di alleanze industriali, ecosistemi dinamici di innovazione industriale e soluzioni avanzate per la sostituzione e l’efficienza delle risorse e dell’energia, il riutilizzo e il riciclaggio efficaci e la produzione primaria pulita di materie prime, comprese le materie prime critiche e la leadership nell’economia circolare.
Il cluster 4 Digital, Industry and Space di Horizon Europe affronta il tema delle tecnologie digitali e industriali, anche nel settore spaziale, che hanno un impatto su tutti i settori dell’economia e della società, trasformano il modo in cui l’industria si sviluppa, produce nuovi prodotti e servizi e sono centrali per qualsiasi futuro sostenibile. La crisi COVID-19 del 2020 ha dimostrato la necessità di rafforzare la base industriale europea, migliorando la sua resilienza e flessibilità sia in termini di tecnologie e catene di approvvigionamento per ridurre la dipendenza dell’UE dai paesi terzi. La pandemia ha anche creato una nuova urgenza nell’affrontare sfide sociali chiave come la sostenibilità o l’inclusione.
